About this site

I’ll cut to the chase*: I believe one’s purpose in life is to pursue and become better;  in every sense of the word, and in a way that ensures everyone else can too.

Moving right along then, there are two possible reasons for why this blog is named “Life In The Fast Lane”:

  1. It reflects my personal philosophy; the relentless pursuit of better; or
  2. It’s what I’m clearly enjoying in the masthead photo (yes, that’s me!)

Either one is plausible.

This is about my 4th or 5th attempt at blogging. My first was a travel diary I maintained on my first overseas trip, way back before blogs had even been invented**. I wish I’d kept a copy so I could cash in on being so ahead of the curve. You’ll just have to take my (and my Mum’s) word for it.

Since then, this site has changed several times as I keep changing my mind about what to do with it. When blogging became cool, I decided to try and surf that wave. Unfortunately I’m not a very good surfer. But I have just enough machismo to keep on trying; and this time feels as good as any. Wish me luck.

My posts are going to be fairly diverse, but mostly related to the following topics:

  • Philosophy (primarily ethics)
  • Education & Learning
  • Design
  • Business
  • Entrepreneurship

In keeping with the site’s name, I’m hoping that the posts will also reflect the theme of “relentless pursuit of better” but, if nothing else, serve as my humble contribution to the idea that in life, it’s all the little things - the observations, the details, the careful consideration etc. - that matter.
